30 Days of Pinterest 2012: Day Twenty Five

Are you a tea drinker? Do you have someone in your life that is particular about their tea? Make them a little tea wallet to carry in their purse!

Tea Wallet: Life on the Lane

This is a great project for using up small scraps of fabric. You can find the full tutorial at Handmade Therapy.

I also carry individual handy wipes in my purse that would fit perfectly in this little wallet!

30 Days of Pinterest 2012: Day Twenty Four

Today I took some time for what has become an annual ritual… the filling of advent calendars. Two that I made for my niece and nephew:
Advent Calendars: Life on the Lane
And then last year I made one for my brother:
Advent Calendars: Life on the Lane
This year I came up with a different version of an advent calendar, I wanted to make a fancier version of something I had pinned but couldn’t find the original source for but it just wouldn’t work.
I started out with a case of cans:
Advent Calendars: Life on the Lane
And I turned them into this:
Beer Advent Calendar: Life on the Lane
I like it much better than last years version!
I also filled this one for my sister-in-law:
Advent Calendar: Life on the Lane
I’m very excited about what’s inside this one… I think I had a stroke of genius if I do say so myself!
Is your house the chocolate advent kind or do you have a different tradition?

30 Days of Pinterest 2012: Day Twenty Three

When the weather turns cold and I don’t have to leave the house I have been known to flavour my coffee with Irish Cream. I have been meaning to try my own for ages and today was the day.

I had this pinned from the blog Style Me Pretty and she even has the printable tags to download!

Irish Cream

1 cup half & half
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 cups Irish whiskey
2 tsp instant coffee
2 tbsp chocolate syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract

Combine all the ingrediants in a blender. Blend for 20-30 seconds on high. Store in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator. Shake well before using.
